Pitch decks

Pitch decks for founders, as slides or as one link.

Investor and sales decks, as slides or as a web page you can send as one link. We build the story and the design, and can do the research and figures behind them.

What goes into a pitch

Taken from the investor pitch we built for the Icelandic Fisherman Shop. Your story decides what stays.

  • A story paced slide by slide

The Fisherman deck runs nineteen slides in ten chapters, from the opening through concept, market, product, model, economics and growth to the outlook, the investment and the close, with three backup slides for the questions that follow.

  • Scenes that move

A globe with the route from Reykjavík to Alicante, numbers that count up, a dial, a map of the Mediterranean corridor and bar charts that build when you click.

  • Numbers that are easy to scan

Key figures count up as a slide appears and charts add one series at a time. The full pricing and inputs wait in a backup slide, one jump away, and projections are labelled as illustrative in the footer.

  • Made for the room

Arrow keys, a presentation clicker, a click or a swipe move it on. Full screen, a blackout, a laser pointer, an overview of every slide and a jump to any slide by its number are built in.

  • A presenter's view

The working file has a Cockpit with the speaking notes, delivery cues, a timer against the plan and the next slide, on the laptop while the projector shows the deck.

  • One file, or one link

The deck is a single HTML file, with fonts, photos and maps inside, that runs with no internet connection. The same deck runs at a link, with the notes left out, for investors to open.

How a pitch starts

With what you already have: notes, links, an old deck, a product demo, or just the problem you want to solve.

  1. Step 1

    You send what you have

An old deck, a spreadsheet, a few pages of notes. We start from it.

  2. Step 2

We shape the story and the numbers

Structure, copy and design, with the figures checked against sources when the research is part of the job.

  3. Step 3

    We publish it

As a presentation you give, or as a page at its own link that you send to investors.

The research behind the pitch

Research often ends up in an investor deck: the market figures, the rules the business has to follow, the competitors. We do that research, written up with its sources, so the pitch and the facts match.

  • Market scans and sizing from public data, and competitor research.
  • Business plans, financial projections and feasibility studies.
  • Go-to-market plans, and the facts and figures for the pitch deck.

Questions about pitch decks

Something else on your mind? Ask in the form below or write to hello@pitchshelf.com.

Slides or a web page?

Both. We make investor and sales decks as slides, or as a web page you send as one link. The Icelandic Fisherman Shop pitch is one HTML file: you present it from a laptop, and the same deck runs at a link for investors to open.

Does a deck work on a phone?

It works best on a laptop or a projector. A slide is 16:9, so on an upright phone it is a thin strip. Turned sideways it is readable and a swipe moves on, and the Fisherman deck asks visitors to turn the phone when it opens upright.

Can the presenter see notes?

Yes. The working file has a Cockpit with the speaking text, delivery notes and a timer against the plan. The copy we publish for investors leaves the notes out.

Can a pitch be in more than one language?

Yes. The first version of the Fisherman pitch, a web page, came in English, Icelandic and Spanish. The presentation that replaced it is in English.

Do you help with the numbers and the market research?

Yes. We do market and competitor research, business plans and financial projections, and the facts and figures for the pitch deck, written up with the sources.

Can you start from an old deck?

Yes. A project starts from what you already have: notes, links, an old deck, a product demo, or just the problem you want to solve. We turn it into one clear piece and publish it.
