The brief
Galtarhöfn is a 101.7-hectare harbour and industrial park with 1,000 metres of continuous berth and up to 20 metres of draft, planned to be operational by 2029.
The site speaks to operators, logistics partners, shipping lines, cruise operators, exporters and green-industrial tenants, in English and Icelandic. It had to make a large infrastructure project easy to grasp in a few minutes.
What we built
- English and Icelandic versions, each built as its own static pages, with returning Icelandic visitors sent to their language.
- A 3D globe and an animated traffic map for the transpolar and Arctic shipping routes.
- The site plan next to a satellite overlay, and the infrastructure plan from 2026 to 2032.
- Sections on port services, energy exchange and the circular economy, with an animated loop diagram.
- A project timeline, press coverage and documents.
- Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a small build script, on Cloudflare Pages.
